WE DO IT ALL
Coral Engineering systematically identify health, safety and environmental risks and impacts of the works.
We have a site start checklist to ensure no items or documentation are missed prior to commencement. This covers everything from site signage, F10, HSAW, First Aiders, Grab & Go cards etc. through to checking all signatures are on all documentation prior to commencement.Wherever reasonably practicable, negative health and safety and environmental impacts will be designed out or mitigation measures will be adopted to reduce risk. Risks that were not able to be avoided will be recorded and communicated to to our client.
Under our duties as Principal Contractor, we aim to Eliminate, Reduce, Isolate or Control all risks within the project. By identifying the risks at an early stage provides us with more opportunity to Eliminate the risks, which is always the preferred option. Coral Engineering will attend all Risk Meetings whether these be HAZCON’s or purely an independent site visit where all identified Risks will be transferred into the Risk Register.
One aspect that directly impacts the image of the industry is how we manage and respect our workforce. We consider the health and wellbeing of our employees, along with their safety and those who have contact with us, as a number one priority. We believe that all work related injuries can be avoided and that this is achievable through strong leadership and committed employees applying their hearts and minds into everyday tasks. We understand that there can be many external factors that can influence people when they are at work and that is why we are in the process of putting together a campaign to help our people get into the right ‘Mindset’.
The appearance of our sites is something we take pride in as a company. To ensure our standards don’t drop the cleanliness of our welfare is promoted through toolbox talks, inductions and posters. However it does not stop at our welfare facilities, it is important to us as a company that all our site vehicles are clean and that the workforce has access to a washing machine to allow all PPE to be clean. Where possible we provide a concrete walkway the width of a wheelchair to all welfare cabins. In addition to this, we acknowledge the importance of having a very well demarcated parking area with a sensibly placed disabled bay.
